as a Domestic Student
Students who currently reside in Australia and hold eligible visas or citizenships mentioned below are considered as ‘domestic’ students and can access various funding provided by the Australian Government.
- You are an Australian citizen;
- You are a New Zealand citizen (or dual citizenship holders of either Australia or New Zealand);
- You are an Australian permanent resident;
- You are an Australian humanitarian visa holder.
The Australian Government provides funding directed at teaching and learning in higher education through a range of initiatives, for a variety of different visas and citizenships. Funding varies between State / Territories, so please check below for eligibility requirements for what is available in your location.
NSW Government Funding
What is Smart and Skilled Funding?
Smart and Skilled is a NSW Government reform program that helps people get qualifications in in-demand skills and industries. It’s a key part of the NSW  system and endeavours to give eligible students:
- an entitlement to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III
- government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.
SA Government Funding
As a provider of training in South Australia, we are partnered with the Government of South Australia Department for Innovation and Skills to deliver subsidised training activities to help develop the workforce industry needs, provide more choice for students and strengthen the future of the VET sector.
Alongside, ÍáÍáÂþ» College offers high school students an opportunity t0 gain additional SACE points at either Stage 1 or Stage 2 on successful completion of a qualification or short course. Students can use a Certificate III as a Stage 2 subject, which can contribute to their ATAR score on successful completion.Â

QLD Government Funding
The Queensland Government invests in training based on industry advice to provide Queenslanders with the skills they need to gain meaningful and sustainable employment through the provider of their choice.
Government funding is directed to minimise skills shortages, focus on training for jobs that are in demand in our critical industries, and increase the number of Queenslanders with formal post-school qualifications.
