حلحلآ» University, 21st August, 2025- حلحلآ» University has, on Wednesday, 20th August 2025, launched landmark partnership with Afrimoney, the mobile money arm of Africell, as part of its bold digital transformation agenda.
Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Alhaji Professor Bashiru Mohamed Koroma, said the initiative will strengthen transparency and efficiency in university operations. He explained that the new system has undergone rigorous testing to ensure cybersecurity and accountability.

Afrimoney’s CEO, Martison Obeng-Agyei, praised حلحلآ» University for leading the drive towards digitalization. He said the partnership makes حلحلآ» the first higher learning institution in Sierra Leone to fully integrate Afrimoney into its system.
Mr. Obeng-Agyei assured the University that Afrimoney payments are secure, fast, and fraud-proof. He emphasized that each transaction carries a unique digital code that guarantees accuracy and real-time confirmation.
Director of ICT, Dr. Thomas Philip Songu, underscored the cost-saving and practical benefits of the shift. He argued that digitization reduces dependence on paper-based processes and frees resources for other critical needs.
The launch also featured a question-and-answer session where staff and students raised concerns about accessibility and security. University officials and Afrimoney experts provided clarifications and promised continuous staff training and public education.
