حلحلآ» University, a multi-disciplinary public university in Sierra Leone, is in the process of recruiting an academic staff who is willing to contribute to society through education, learning and research at the highest international levels of excellence in the university.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following position:
Position Information
Job Title: Deputy Vice-Chancellor Location: Bo Campus
Position Overview
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor shall:
(a) Hold office for Three (3) years and shall be eligible for reappointment for a further term of Three (3) years only,
(b) Subject to the general control and direction of the Vice-Chancellor and Principal be the chief academic, administrative and accounting officer of his Campus and shall, in addition, continue to perform his academic functions,
(c) Be Chairman of all Campus Committees except the Standing Committee of which he shall be Deputy Chairman, and
(d) Exercise such disciplinary powers in respect of students of his Campus as may be prescribed by Court
Qualifications
(a) Candidate must not be below the rank of Associate Professor from a recognized University,
(b) Candidate must have held a senior administrative and academic position in the University or other Tertiary Institution for at least five (5) years
Key Responsibilities
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor shall be responsible for the following:
(a) Supervision of teaching, research and community activities of Deans of School, Heads of Department within his Campus under the direction of the Vice-Chancellor and Principal,
(b) Campus security,
(c) Student welfare, including the enforcement of the rules binding the conduct of students,
(d) The provision of medical services and
(e) Any other duties assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal
Salary and Benefits
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the revised conditions of service for Deputy Vice-Chancellors of Public Tertiary Institutions in Sierra Leone
